Marshall designed this amp for the country and blues music market, intending to surpass Fender offerings in all aspects. It was the most expensive venture of the era, that they had ever invested into. Development and production was a painstaking 2 years. Unfortunately, due to low demand at the higher price point, the Club & Country series were only on the market for another few years (1978-1981), before being discontinued. This combo was manufactured in latter part of 1978, and has the more desirable speaker combination for blues guitar playing, versus a model 4140 or 4150. 

 This amp is a two-channel, master volume tone monster. Top-notch components & quality construction throughout.  Power and output transformers are huge. Circuit layout is sturdy & super quiet in operation. Cabinet does not rattle. The British ROLA speakers have aged nicely and translate sound of a fine instrument properly & with authority. Lush long-pan reverb, with Bright and Boost toggle switches on primary channel.  You can jump channels with a short cable, just like you can on a Plexi, and acquire a broader tonal output. All tubes are the OEM originals, including the quad of GEC KT-77’s, valued at over $350 alone. Amp is in excellent condition & performs wonderfully. Has very minor wear, being scuffs to vinyl on sides of cabinet, the very end of the letter “L” on script logo was chipped, and some tarnish to carry handle ends. Easily rates 8.5 on scal of ten….possibly the cleanest, unmolested 4145 you will see available for purchase. Used in an environmentally-controlled home studio, with relatively low working hours, on this 30 year old beauty.

 It is known that Stevie Ray Vaughan used this amplifier model during the early part of his influential career.  The 4145 has a lot of headroom, and can be extremely loud if you ever need to cut through the mix with that clarity on hand. Before you spend 1-2 grand for one of the latest “hot 10-20 watt boutique” trend amp's of the year, do a little research on this gem.

 The combo will weigh roughly 90 pounds once safely boxed. Auction is open to members of continental U.S. and Canada only, having no negative feedback.
