Thank you for looking at my auction. This is a vintage Bell & Howell 185 projector amp that's been modified to use as a guitar amplifier. It is very clean, non-smelly, and works very well. Here's what has been done:

AC power connector changed to grounded 3-prong style.,speaker connectors replaced with 1/4" jack.,toggle switch added to switch speaker impedance between 8 or 16 Ohms.,cool blue LED power indicator added to front.,most electrolytic capacitors replaced.,case properly grounded.,tone and volume potentiometers sprayed heavily.

The resulting guitar amp sounds nice and warm as you would expect a tube amp to sound. At 10 Watts this little amp easily drives a 4 x 12 cabinet. There is some 60 cycle hum present, like with many amplifiers, but the hum seems to remain at a constant level as the volume is turned up. So, when you are playing you are kind of playing above the hum and it's not that noticeable.

The tubes (3 B&H 25L6GTs,1 B&H 6SL7GT, 1 RCA 5879) appear original. AND, as mentioned above, I am including the following bonus items: the original photodetector tube, AC socket, (2) extra 25L6GTs, (1) GE 5879, (1) B&H 6SL7GT, plus all the original electrolytic caps that were replaced.

Now for the safety disclaimer: this is a vintage (old-from the 1950's)live chassis tube amplifier, and it posesses potentially lethal voltages, like many other tube amplifiers. Do not buy or use this amplifier unless you are certain you can do so safely. If you are in doubt, please don't bid. The seller is not responsible for injury/death resulting from the use of this item. Also, the seller recommends the use of an isolation transformer, such as those made by Stancor or Triad, as an added measure of safety.

The auction is for model 07138 amp, power cord, plus bonus parts mentioned above. Nothing else is included.

Your questions are welcome. Good luck and Happy Bidding!

Low/negative feedback points-please don't bid.
