1963 Vintage Ampeg B-15-N Portaflex
tube bass amplifier w/ custom detachable dolly
- Serial number 302428 -- built in February 1963 by the Ampeg Co. Inc., Linden, New Jersey
- Very cool, lighted Lucite Ampeg logo/pilot light works and has not been 'personalized'
- Extension speaker out, extension amp out, hum balance control (Ampeg exclusive)
- Highly sought-after 6L6/6SL7/5U4 circuit design
- Original custom, shock-mount detachable dolly
- Early octal tube-socket speaker connector
- Original Jensen 15-inch Concert Speaker date-coded 220308 (1963)
- Original CTS and Centralab pots manufactured 1962 (per date codes 1346235 and 13762xx)
- Power transformer (PT108) replaced c.1975 (with genuine factory replacement part)
- Owned by the same non-smoker since 1970
- Blue-checker vinyl covering, original handle and all hardware are in good, serviceable condition for their age, and original grille cloth has only minor damage (please see pics)
- Part of original metal script Ampeg logo is missing--it just says "peg", but included free is one never-used, ready-to-install, (original replacement part) metal script Ampeg logo--an $18 or greater value! (see pic)
- At least one caster wheel has some flat spots (a la Flintstones)
- All inputs, outputs and controls tested OK. This amp plays and sounds great.
