Who wants to be a star? Before looking inside, I would have sworn this was a tube amp! So amazingly clean and warm as a fireplace on a fall evening, it just blew me away! Point: I'm not a musician, haven't played one on tv either. Point: I work with hundreds of musicians in my shop, they teach me tons about equipment, sound, technology, and especially vintage. Point: the musicians I deal with rarely have money. Point: Someone in Ebay Land is going to own this fantastic amp. This is what we know: plays all but perfect and I will qualify the statement. At roughly 40 years old, we are bound to need a little tune up (thats exactly what i tell myself when I look in mirror!), nothing major, assuredly. I detected the faintest pot (potentiometer) noise (translated, the knobs) , rarely. Shot it with some good electronics cleaner on all contacts and knobs and plugs and magically.......GONE!! I will urge you to do it again at some point, as you would on practically any musical equipment. The case itself, as you can see from the pix, is used. Not flawless, not mint, not even real clean. Just callin it like i see it! The speaker cover is dusty, but not torn, worn, or tattered. Breaking the unit down for detailing would be very simple and I am fortunate enuf just to have the time to write this description. Actually, if you have time to detail the amp, stop by my shop with some elbow grease and a few spare weeks, we have plenty of stuff for you to detail!! There are standard size holes on the bottom where casters used to be but none present. At 53 pounds, you may want to put some on. That sweet, immaculate JBL American made, flawless 15" D130F speaker must weigh a bunch! No tears , rot, flaws, very desireable playable piece of audio history that performs AS NEW! Clean side and a very cool reverb side with separate jacks for each and seperate eq. It a appears one of the two back illuminating bulbs is out, I was too lazy to chase this inexpensive , bayonette type bulb, YOU the lucky new owner can have the joy of going to the Shack to buy one. One volume knob does have about one third of the vernier absent, but causes zero performance issue. The Xmas tree lighting is beautiful and will be perfect once you light the other side. As you see in the pix, amp section is in remarkable condition, no cracks on board, decaying wire or components, corrosion, those monstrous Mallory are not leaking and look fresh ! Transformer is quiet, clean and noiseless. Do not let the low starting price be an indicator of the quality ! My old convertibles should run as well as this amp!! Dimensions: 20" tall, 26" wide, 11" deep,. Shipping quote for lower 48, will try to find a less expensive route(open to suggestions!), all others please email for additional cost before bidding! If you pickup, we must collect local sales tax. Paypal preferred, no funny money, wiseguys!! We will package this item carefully and lovingly to avoid any disappointments whatsoever. Insurance is highly recommended on any purchase at additional cost to buyer. What else can we say? Please view the other equipment we are selling. We don't sell junk!! Thanx for looking and good luck bidding!
