50 watts of tube power (but incredibly loud for 50 watts).
This is the predecessor to the legendary JCM 800 amp and was used by every early guitar god from Hendrix to Page. Mine was born in February of 1979 and uses two 6550 power amp tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes. It's just a very simple amp that does its job and lets the guitar's true voice shine through.
This is a single channel amplifier with two inputs: High and Low sensitivity. There are only 6 knobs on this amp. They are as follows: PRESENCE, BASS, MIDDLE, TREBLE, MASTER VOLUME, PRE-AMP VOLUME.
You will find that EQ'ing this amp takes patience, because it’s capable of hitting everything from nice, glassy, clean tones, to classic rock crunch or hard rock/metal.
This amp has been recently professionally re-tubed and re-biased. An input was installed in the past but was never completed. The circuitry is all stock.
The exterior condition is “OK”, shows normal signs of professional use. One of the upper corner bumpers is missing and there are slight nicks in the skin but it is over-all in good condition.
Sounds perfect and I hate to part with it since it’s becoming a collector’s item but times are hard right now.
