1989 Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker!
1st Year Reissue, Low Serial Number!
Very Excellent Condition!
No Reserve, Cheap Shipping!
For your consideration is this beautiful 1989 Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker reissue electric guitar amplifier. This particular example, serial number X00347, is one of the early first-year reissues. With some components dating from late-1988, and others from early-1989, it is apparent that this is from the initial batch. The first-ever Marshall reissues came out the year earlier, and while some didn't feel that the JTM45 Bluesbreaker combo was historically accurate, many were excited to own an authentic replica of one of Marshall' most famous amp. New Bluesbreakers sell for over $2,300.00, and the first-year examples are almost imporssible to find, so take advantage of this No Reserve auction with cheap shipping, and get a great bargain on this fantastic amp!
Created in 1965 at the request of Eric Claption, after his joining John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, the 1962 was one of the first combos produced by Jim Marshall, and created one of the most sought-after tones in the history of rock music. Clapton simply wanted a combo amplifier with tremolo that could fit in the trunk of his car, and the 1962 is what he got. In the 1980s, since demand for that signature "Beano" album sound had been (and still was) so great, plans began to create a reissue. What was born of those years of planning and development was the reissue 1962, as seen here, now called the "Bluesbreaker" in honor of the band.
The 1962 has seen numerous changes over the years since the reissues first hit the market. This particular example features the standard (2) 25-watt ceramic Celestion G12M 12" speakers, (4) ECC83 preamp tubes, (2) EL34 (changed from the original 6L6) power tubes, and (1) GZ34 rectifier tube, dual-channel operation with (2) instrument inputs each, channel-specific volume control, master treble, middle, and bass controls as well as speed and intensity for the tremolo function, all housed in a 29.13” X 23” X 9” cabinet - slightly smaller than the original, making it even more trunk-friendly.
This example, serial number X00347, was factory-tested on May 31st 1989, is still in perfect working condition, and is in very excellent cosmetic condition exhibiting VERY few signs of wear or use. Both speakers work perfectly and sound great, without showing any signs of fatigue. As well, all channels, inputs and control pots work without any distracting noise, scratchiness, popping or intermittence. The tremolo functions do not seem to work, but we did not have access to a footswitch when testing.
Cosmetically, examples of this age seldom come better. The tolex has three...count them...three very small rips, both located on the back corners of the cabinet, but is otherwise flawless. The grill cloth, top grill and control plate are all in pristine condition with only extremely minor storage wear present.
What we have is a highly sought-after, early 1962 Bluesbreaker reissue, and one that looks fit for any fine collection as well as sounding amazing.
Be sure to examine our many pictures in the gallery to your right, all of which are of the actual amp.
As stated above, the latest incarnations of the Bluesbreaker Reissues typically sell for around $2,200, so take advantage of this No Reserve auction with Cheap Worldwide Shipping and get this stunning early example for a great price!
