1953 FENDER DELUXE AMPLIFIER!
Super Rare Re-Covered in 1963 by Fender in Rough Blond Tolex! W@W!

ITEM: For your consideration is this vintage 1953 Fender Deluxe electric guitar amplifier. For those who are familiar with Fender practices and protocol, it is known that Fender would sometimes factory refurbish and/or re-finish Fender guitars and basses, however, it not well known that the same was offered for amplifiers as well. This particular example was made in 1953 (originally in tweed) and was sent back to the Fender factory exactly 10 years later to repair the damaged exterior. At the time Fender amps featured rough Blond tolex and Wheat-colored grill cloth, and such was applied. Considered to be one of the more interesting Fender pieces we have seen in a while, this amp is worthy of any Fender book and those Fender collections with seemingly every make and model. 

Other features of this beautiful 5C3, wide-panel amp include: (3) quarter-inch inputs (2 instrument and 1 mic), controls for Instrument Volume and Tone, as well as, Mic Volume. This great-sounding amp circuit sports(1) 6SC7 preamp tube, (1) 5Y3GT rectifier tube, and (2) 6V6GT power tubes through a single (original!) Jensen 12" speaker (code: 220306). In the early 50's, a Deluxe was the amp to have, and was used by many notable players including Scotty Moore in Elvis Presley's Sun Records days. That being said, this amp is STILL the one to have, not only as an investment, but as a remarkable addition to any studio or collector's arsenal. The sound is that classic Fender tweed tone we all know and love, and turns into a beautiful rich crunch up past 12 o'clock.

Other than what was described above, this particular example features an all original circuit: all tubes, capacitors, transformers, and speaker are original. The power cable was replaced with a modern 3-prong, while the speaker was re-coned. Other than that, this amp is the same way it was back in 1953. Surely by now, you're saying "HEY! That date stamp says 1963!"... ...it sure does. When the factory had to dismantle the amplifier to recover it, a date was stamped on the chassis and tube chart so as to keep track of the components. Once again, all of the components are completely original - even the tubes! Cosmetically, this example is in excellent condition, showing only expected signs of wear, use, and age. There are a few noticeable flaws on the tolex, but these are limited to a couple slight stains, two very small tears on two of the bottom corners, small pin holes near the handle brackets, and some slight rippling on the bottom.

Items, which exceed the USPS 70 lb. weight limit, will be shipped via DB Schenker transportation services. All items are shipped via the United States Postal Service, and all packages are shipped with Signature Confirmation.

All items are packed with entirely new packing materials, and S&H charges include both tracking information and signature confirmations. All items are fully insured for the full sale value. For International customers, an additional separate sale invoice will be placed in an envelope on the exterior of the package as to expedite customs processing, unless otherwise requested.

All items are declared at full value, and we never declare a lower value on Customs forms. The flat rate shipping quotes included in our auctions are accurate and are non-negotiable, unless you are having your item shipped to Canada, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Ukraine, or Brunei.
